A few days back, I had numerous tasks lined up on my calendar, one of which was to publish articles alongside designing self-explanatory posters for them. It might not be difficult for me if I weren’t living in this digital era where grabbing eyeballs is compulsory to perform. So for the outcome, I got to the web, searched for inspiration and colour combinations, and after an hour, I had five posters ready to be uploaded.
Now, I am not trying to be a complainant and come across as a lazy individual (believe me, please, I need to boast about it). Instead, I want to improve my pace. How? Experts and researchers say- Artificial Intelligence.
Following their advice, I grabbed my not-so-well lovely laptop, typed in AI Art on the search bar and went through awesome blogs and tools to jot down this list that can also help you. By the way, if you work for a firm, let’s keep this secret between us until, of course, Google picks this article up and features it on the Discover feed of your boss.
Let’s keep that thought aside for a moment and start just as quick as an AI.
13 AI Art Tools You Need to Discover.
1. Midjourney.
You might have come across the AI art generator that currently operates through a discord server- Midjourney is one the most popular program which turns your command into an image in less than a minute.
To get your hands dirty, you can join the server through this link, and once you start, they offer 25 free image generations.
The subscription plans start at $10 per month.
2. DALL·E 2.
Named after the famous surrealist painter Salvador Dali and animated movie WALL-E, Open AI announced the initial version DALL·E in January 2021. They claimed that it could generate images from the text for a wide range of concepts, and the matured version DALL·E 2 brings more realism to them. The tool can also make seamless edits to the existing images and play with elements like shadows, reflections and textures.
However, the company has not made this tool accessible to the public, and to be among the early users, you can join their waitlist.
3. Hotspot.ai.
Hotspot.ai is a multitasking AI tool that most graphic designers will prefer. It offers functionalities like art maker, art personalizer, idea generator, picture colourizer, picture restorer, etc. One of the limitations of this tool is the text command length which can’t exceed 150 characters and therefore cannot achieve precision.
The best part is that you have to assign no subscription plan; instead, most of the tasks are free, and for the professional requirements, one can add credits.
4. Wombo Dream.
An AI-based art generator that makes the most out of your prompt (up to 100 characters) to create a painting that will be delivered to you in real life. There are 25 art styles you can pick from while specifying your idea. You can also add an image for reference or remix an NFT you own.
You may consider this platform e-commerce of AI art with no charges for prompts.
5. NightCafe.
NightCafe is an ai generator that lets users select between the required algorithms, i.e., Artistic or Coherent. While specifying the prompt, you can choose styles, add a start image, select the resolution of the output and even create a video of the result.

StarryAI creates dreamy and cohesive art based on the given prompt. Similar to other platforms, you can choose art styles and even give the generator an initial image to start.
StarryAI works on a credit system but offers a generous free tier where you get five refills daily.
The platform also has an option to generate an animation of how the AI created the artwork from scratch.
7. Deep Dream Generator.
From the house of Google, Deep Dream Generator is an AI tool which relies on a neural network trained by uploading millions of images. It enables you to create a high-quality image based on an existing asset and has a monthly subscription plan starting at $19 per month (the trial version lets you generate up to seven pictures).
To start, a user needs to select between the styles- Deep Style, Thin Style or Deep Dream Style. Then, you can alter the image through painting styles available on the platform. It also provides you with an option to select the preferred resolution.
8. AI Gahaku.
A biased AI art generator that makes changes to an existing image by applying different painting styles.
This free tool is in its beta stage with no access to alter the output, and the firm plans to change that in the future.
With several filters to choose from, the three main categories of AI Gahaku are- Novice, Maestro and Landscape.
9. Artbreeder.
For me, Artbreeder is the first one to come across. It relies on machine learning to create fascinating images in seconds.
Aside from landscapes, the program allows you to create portraits, music albums, and much more. The differentiating factor, however, is its ability to modify skin tones, hair colour, age and more to bring massive changes.
Known for multiplying genes, Artbreeder has begun experimenting with prompts, too, and while it costs nothing to start, you can always benefit from a subscription plan starting at $7.49/month.
10. Quick, Draw.
Based on Machine Learning, Google developed the Quick, Draw game to learn how a neural network recognizes doodling.
After being presented with a prompt, you get 20 seconds to doodle, after which the network tries to recognize it.
11. Stability.ai.
Stability.ai is the newly launched text-to-image model that combines the use of resources at CompVis and Runway. The tool is also said to take a cue from Dall-E 2, Imagen and many others to learn better and consequently produce rich results.
Sushant Vohra, an industrial designer, shared a quick comparison between Dall-E, Midjourney and Stability.ai on Instagram. The prompt given to them was- “Donut Shaped Bluetooth Speaker”.
He says,
“I think stable diffusion is a very capable model, it’s also the fastest. It’s fairly creative. Midjourney is definitely the most creative and Dalle creates very realistic results but maybe not so creative. My gripe with midjourney is that it struggles so hard to make a simple circle haha.”
At the moment, stability.ai is preparing for a public launch of stable diffusion, but researchers can reach out to contribute.
12. Imagen.
The Google research team, Google Brain, developed Imagen to learn the effectivity of pre-trained frozen text encoders in text-to-image generation.
Later proved successful, these encoders embed texts to text-to-image diffusion models to generate a 64×64 image which is ultimately magnified to a 1024×1024 image.

13. TikTok.
The video-sharing platform secretly rolled out its text-to-image generator called AI greenscreen. First reported by The Verge, the feature is made available to selected users, and it can generate artwork from texts.
As reported, TikTok advises users to provide prompts like astronaut in the ocean and flower galaxy to generate art.
The effect can only produce abstract art and not photorealistic images, and the reports also note repercussions like
“Secondly, TikTok has more than a billion users, and giving all these individuals the power to create photorealistic images of anything they can imagine would almost certainly produce some troubling results”.
Is This It?
The AI Art generators are getting better at the given task with each passing moment, and while I loved how these engines respond to a set of words or assets, the outcome that comes from the library of a graphic designer is still unbeaten.
