To just escape my boredom, I love checking the comments on Reddit regarding several discussions and participating in them. Besides Cillian Murphy’s brilliant character development through the series Peaky Blinders, one of the most discussed topics on subreddits over the months is the pay scale for different professions and legitimate company reviews. The fact that a few well-known companies (I can’t name them, sorry) continue to use artificial intelligence to accomplish tasks faster while firing their human employees is interesting. It is for this reason that they are resorting to robots instead of hiring workers. The extent to which these CEOs go to save a few bucks is ridiculous. And the most affected niche here is resume writing, copywriting, and content creation. And well, some of the company founders are such clodpoles that they believe AI can replace software engineers. So today, I have decided to write an article discussing how purposeful ChatGPT is. Now, since it relies on the question, Where does ChatGPT get its information from, I have an entire heading of this question too. So let us get started.

What Is ChatGPT?
Before we move on to other sections, let us first understand about it. By now, you all might have used ChatGPT and asked it your various queries and experimented with some stuff. Basically, it is like a website, which answers almost most of your questions, but it is not like a search engine. So what is it? According to its parent company OpenAI, ChatGPT is the sibling mode to InstructGPT, which is trained in such a way that it will be following an instruction in a prompt to give you a detailed solution. To understand, what method is used to make it, you can refer to the image below.
How Does ChatGPT Get Its Information?
Answering this question is significant as there are hundreds of stupid fellows, who think ChatGPT can work wonders with their projects and jobs. So, let me give you a few examples to let you know about it.
It looks like ChatGPT summarized the artist’s bio from the prompt, but when I analyzed the information, I found it was completely taken from Wikipedia. And let’s not forget Henri Cavil’s reaction to Wikipedia, which is probably the best. So, to pick one point here is that ChatGPT relies on the information available on the internet and not from the sources of information, which makes it a little unworthy to use for us.
Next, we looked at the true crime story of Regina Kay Walters, who was brutally murdered by the serial killer, Robert Ben Rhoades. What ChatGPT writes here, however, is entirely incorrect. Simply put, the AI platform removes the actual facts when you give it some creative work or stories.
However, this time I asked GPT to draft the letter in Hindi, which I was reluctant to write. Therefore, the letter conveyed a little too good information, but again whatever information I added on prompts and to refer to a website was not processed. As an alternative, it covered everything in Hindi, even the name of the website and not the content from it. Simply put, it means that GPT is incapable of processing information from a particular website.
By now, you must have the answer to where does ChatGPT get its information from. If someday the internet has a blackout on information and data, ChatGPT is nowhere useful. One of the most important things to note here is that despite how many prompts you add, the system will never personalise the information, as per your preferences. After taking help to write meta descriptions for a few articles, it repeated the same style, which quickly became repetitive and boring.
Let me now address your next question.
Should You Rely on ChatGPT for Information?
According to my experience, hundreds of websites and articles contain similar topics, but only a few contain relevant information. And this can be only clarified with the resources it mentions. In contrast, ChatGPT does not have such functions to present all the information based on the right resources. So, sadly the answer is NO!
The best part is only a few individuals search on ChatGPT for their assignments and jobs.
How Does ChatGPT Benefit Professionals?
So, the bigger question can be whether ChatGPT is a total waste platform for professionals. I don’t have a straightforward answer. It can be useful, however, for repetitive tasks such as writing common query letters and notices. And upto some extent for lesser coding prompts, it can be helpful. But, hey, you can not generate the entire website with ChatGPT.
Next, if you wish to write letters, emails and notices in other languages, you are unaware of, you can use ChatGPT for the purpose as well.
There is no machine capable of replacing the beautiful and complex mind of a human. Although it could assist in repetitive work that is time-consuming or loosen productivity, hiring ChatGPT would be foolish.
