As art viewing began to be a real boon in reducing mental exhaustion, some of the deficit museums saw a surge in their visitors. The Gala-Salvador Dali Foundation is one of them, whose revenue increased to 7.3 Million Euros, an overwhelming figure, from its mislaying of 3 Million Euros in 2020.
On May 30, the President of the Museum, Jordi Mercader, presented the revenue attained by the institution in a press lunch in Barcelona as 7.3 Million Euros, surpassing all the past figures. The news was first covered by El Punt Avui. The beneficial outcome was due to an increase in the number of visitors compared to the previous year by 16.6% from its three centers and the success of the Dalinian world tours. Mercader exclaims,
“We don’t owe anything, and we can dedicate all the surplus to culture.”
To increase the accessibility to the museums, the foundation might carry out a “profound structural change” adjacent to the Theatre Museum. This will further improve the reinforcement of the educational services or temporary exhibitions. The Foundation, with its excellent approach to publicizing Dalí’s works through inventiveness in the interest-deficit museum sector, has done meticulous work.
The institution currently holds 200 paintings in its warehouse, which needs space to hold an exhibition. There might be a possibility that there may be a fourth Dalí facility. Additionally, the Theatre Museu celebrates Dalí’s masterpieces, visited by 34 Million people all over the world. The festivity dates can be checked here.
