130 Impressionists to Come Under the Same Roof at National Gallery of Art, Washington
The National Gallery of Art, Washington, presents “Paris 1874: The Impressionist Moment,” shedding light on lesser-known artists of the 19th century alongside their famous contemporaries.
An interpretation of Impressionism declares enriched information about artists like Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Berthe Morisot, Camille Pissarro, Paul Cézanne, and Piere-Auguste Renoir while leaving the poverty of information about their contemporaries. Exposing these shadows of the 19th-century stature of fame, Impressionism, and its lesser-known artists, the National Gallery of Art, Washington, presents Paris 1874: The Impressionist Moment from September 08, 2024 – January 19, 2025.
Organized through an exceptional collaboration between the National Gallery of Art and the Musée d’Orsay, Paris, the exhibition revisits 1874 and conveys information about the movement, considered the birth of modern painting.
According to the curators, it is a,
“rare reunion of many of the paintings first featured in that now-legendary exhibition.”
