Netflix’s most celebrated drama series, Emily in Paris, proposed to be shot in Italy for its upcoming season, has officially entered filming in the region, centered in Rome. Viewers expect new adventures for the character, both geographically and romantically, with the entry of Emily’s Italian beau and the heir of his family’s cashmere business in Rome.
Taking a break from the sets, Lilly Collins, the lead star of the show, roamed the Vatican Museums alongside the show’s cast and inhaled the beautiful atmosphere of art history. In one place, the actress can be seen keenly observing one of the frescoes while in another, Ashley Park, who plays Mindy in the series, interrupts her for a fun selfie. Lilly wrote on her Instagram post,
“The most special field trip with my @emilyinparis family to the Vatican last night. What a dream. Thank you for such a magical tour…”
The post raises questions for many fans, including if the fifth season will be entirely shot in Italy. Darren Star, writer of the show, said,
“Emily will have a presence in Rome. It doesn’t mean she won’t be in Paris, but she will have a presence in Rome. The cast and crew of Emily in Paris are excited to begin filming season five in the Eternal City,”
”From Parisian rooftops to Roman ruins, we can’t wait to share where Emily’s next chapter will take us.” Cast members Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie) and Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello) will all return for the new season, but more actors and actresses will join the cast.”
As a Netflix Original, the series is slated to be released on the OTT and will premiere in late 2025. It is only expected that we will explore more delightful stories by the cast, sharing more magnificent pictures of Italian art.
