How to Arrange Pillows on a Bed

I strongly feel that in the entire space of the bedroom, the heart and centerpiece of the room is the bed, but of course, the most neglected portion. Even with hundreds of beautiful stores of soft furnishings, and better carpentry options, the bed still remains in chaos, as if nobody takes care of it as much as it deserves. Earlier, when I wrote an article on bedroom essentials, I focussed especially on the products to make a bed beautiful. However, I feel no matter how much I write about making your bed more comfortable, there will be always some things that will be left out. So, to cover this elephant in your bedroom decor, I have managed to schedule my future posts accordingly. Today, I am writing about arranging pillows on a bed. As much as it sounds easier, trust me, it revolves around the shores of confusion and lack of options. It becomes significant to make the arrangement of these pillows in accordance with the colors, designs, and mood so that the chosen style is practical, functional, and beautiful. For instance, when you go for a spa or massage, the pillow is usually white in its standard posture, but that doesn’t look good when it comes to the bedroom. There are several ways to make the pillow arrangement, which actually adds drama to your bedroom. And once you do it, you will instantly feel the change as the pillow sets and quilts change the bedding in the most unimagined way. I will take you to a few ways to do it. So, let’s start!

11 Quick Tips Answering How to Arrange Pillows on a Bed.

1. Contrasting in the Symphony of Balance.

When your bedroom is traditionally decorated with everything too perfect, like a four-poster bed and a royal artwork, add a little contrast with a color blast through a decent bed-pillow combination. To do so, you need four sleeping pillows on a pile of two and keep them against the headboard of your bed. Now, the back ones can be neutral-colored, and the front ones can have a contrast. And finally, you can add a lumbar pillow for accent at the middle of these pillows. Or if you don’t have an accent pillow, then you can use a frill-pillow cover cushion.

2. Creating an Abstract Pattern for Starking Difference.

One of the most admired and easiest look-through bed pillows is adding more shapes to your bed. If you have a modern bedroom, that engages minimalism and simplicity, then adding fun shapes through bed pillows is a great idea. To add more drama with these shapes in your bed space, you need four large sleeping pillows, a lumbar pillow, and a 26-inch pillow. All you need to do is keep all of them in similar form, keeping them against the headboard. First, on the left, prop your 26-inch pillow, followed by a sleeping pillow (with a frilled pillow cover) at its front. On its right, add two sleeping pillows with the same color coordination. Keep a normal sham in the middle of them to touch up, and finally, end your styling with a darker hue lumbar pillow. You can try more playful arrangements by adding a bolster or round-shaped accent pillows, but make sure all of them are in harmony with balance and color coordination. To add more drama to your bed, you can finally complete the look with a quilt of a similar color to the sleeping pillows.

3. Hide Your Sleeping Pillows.

For the people who have a chic bedroom cum reading corner, finding the best way on how to arrange pillows on a bed is through a simple hideout trick. Imagine a bedroom with a padded headboard with a contrasting cabinet and proper table lamp alongside a rocking chair for reading with leisure. As for sleeping pillows, keep them out of sight while you are reading or sending emails since they are drowsy-making. To do so as well as compliment the room, you need six sleeping pillows, piled in three on top of one another and stacked next to each other. Layer them with the two 20-inch square pillows in front of both sides. You can either finish it up with a 26-inch pillow or leave it as it is. However, make sure that you use similar colored sleeping pillows with stark contrast cushion covers. One additional tip is you can use descending sizes of sleeping pillows, like laying the larger one on the bed and then one size shorter to its above and so on, making it a descending three-layered pattern.

4. Layer It Like a Top-Notch Designer.

Babe (not gender specified), you need the confidence to design like a pro with a little taste in color and coordination. For people whose bedrooms are alluring like you just stepped into warm and cozy cottages, the best way to touch up your bed through pillows is by layering them in coordination. So what you exactly need is four sleeping pillows, two 26-inch cushions, two 20-inch cushions, and one regular-sized cushion.

First, slack your sleeping pillows one on another in a pile of two next to each other. Then, layer them against the headboard with the 26-inch cushions, followed by 20-inch cushions, and then the regular-sized cushion. Keep in mind that the sleeping pillows belong to the same color, while the 26-inch ones have a darker shade (maybe earther brown), followed by a textured cushion and then a pattern or printed rich-colored regular cushion.

5. Move Them in Japandi Style.

Japandi style is the most elemental and tranquil style when it enters your bedroom. If you have a nude or earthen-shaded bedroom with absolute minimalism and a low-rising bed, then this tip is perfect for arranging the pillows for an aesthetic look. You just need good quilts, a textured soft bedspread with two large sleeping pillows, and a twenty-inch cushion. What you gonna do is prop the sleeping pillows alternatively as if the front one takes over through one-sixth of the back one. And put on the cushion over the middle portion. You can then add a layered quilt to complete your bed. As a matter of fact, seeing it will only make you feel sleepier as if you wanted to crash in bed at that very moment.

Most of us love our master bedroom to be simple, cozy, yet compelling. In between making everything perfect, we forget that even the simplest styles can provide comfort while making everything immaculately harmonious. So, to celebrate this spirit of easing things up, let your bed speak through its attire. All you need is three sleeping pillows stacked one on another on each side of the bed. The middle ones can have printed or floral prints, which can refresh the look of your bedroom. Finally, add a textured 20-inch cushion in the middle. You can always add a quilt of similar printed or floral fabric to complement the look.

7. Find the Perfect Prints to Combine.

Choosing the right prints to give a shark color coordination through different elements in your bedroom can lift it up with lucidity. Let us raise the spirit through a simple technique. You need three different-sized pillows in a set of two with different complementary fabric covers. We are not doing much on texture but only with the color and size. Prop the king-size sleeping pillows against the headboard first. Then layer it with a 26-inch light-printed fabric cushion, followed by a small lumbar pillow. Though the layout looks simple, trust me, it changes the entire vibe of the bedroom. To finish up, you can add a textured quilt of the sleeping pillows shade and your bed is ready!

8. Layering up With Modesty.

If your bedroom is too modern or plain like you adore white or creamier shades, then this trick is for you. Slack two sleeping pillows one on another on both sides of simple color and then layer it with a 16-inch or 20-inch cushion of darker color (whatever you like), followed by a textured fur small lumber. For extras, you can always add a quilt of the chosen darker shade and your bespoke bed is ready!

9. Immaspoke Bed Is Ready for Texture, Color, and Contrast.

For a comfy Nordic or bohemian bed vibe, you simply add bolsters, cushions, and pillows with at least a few shades of golden, brown, and beige. Let me introduce you to adding bolsters to your pillow arrangement on the bed. First, you slack the bolsters at the end of the bed, which will give a slant height to the pillows, layered upon it. After you add bolsters on both sides, layer your bed with sleeping pillows and then a small lumbar pillow. I think the picture is self-explanatory. Please remember that the middle layer remains white and the lumbar one can have an accent or even print.

10. Tri-Combination for Single Beds.

In between all these large sizes of beds today, the most effervescent style will always be single bedding, which can be layered with several options. For the kid’s bed or single bedding owners, this trick is a blessing. All you need is three pillows- a 26-inch pillow, a sleeping pillow, and a lumbar pillow. And then arrange it in the same sequence- first a 26-inch pillow against the headboard, followed by a sleeping pillow and a lumbar pillow. The pillow covers must be frilled and similar so that there is simplicity.
